PRAANA: breathe for life.
PRAANA is a Sanskrit word meaning "breathe for life." The PRAANA Charitable Allergy and Asthma Clinics (PCAAC) are established and run by qualified physician-volunteers who dedicate their time and expertise to serve patients who would otherwise have no access to specialist allergy and asthma care.
Free care, every visit
At every PRAANA clinic, consultations, allergy skin testing, spirometry, and medications are provided completely free of charge to all patients. The PRAANA brand is now a registered trademark in India, reflecting the growing credibility, reach, and recognition of this initiative across the country.
Since the first clinic was established in 2017 at Mysore Medical College and Research Institute under Dr. Savitha Ramaraj, the network has expanded rapidly, with clinics now operating across multiple states in India and in countries including Nepal and Barbados in the Caribbean. Each clinic is led by a dedicated physician-volunteer who brings world-class allergy and asthma care directly to underserved communities, one patient at a time.
Registered Trademark
Volunteers contribute in various ways — the partner of a CME graduate worked tirelessly over several years to obtain trademark registration in India for the PCAAC initiative.

Dr. Dan Purushotam, with Cipla Breathe Free Team
A total of 13 patients were treated and spirometry was performed 11 times. All medicines were distributed free of charge as part of the Government of Rajasthan's Mukhyamantri Nishulk Yojana programme.

All eleven patients underwent spirometry and three had allergy skin testing. Sublingual immunotherapy, inhalers, and nasal sprays were recommended.

Sublingual immunotherapy was recommended for two patients; inhalers, nasal sprays and montelukast were given to four with skin allergy. Four presented with nasal allergy and allergic rhinosinusitis; one had severe persistent asthma.
Dr. Vijayshree Gattani, ENT Specialist — Gattani Hospital
25 patients were seen; 19 underwent allergy skin testing and 10 had spirometry performed. All services were rendered free of charge.
Dr. Rajan Deshpande & Dr. PK Vedanthan — Vithal Institute of Child Health
85 patients were evaluated; 65 allergy skin tests and 38 spirometry tests were performed by volunteer physicians and technical staff.

Approximately 125 children were evaluated in this rural setting, and 25 spirometry tests were completed.
Dr. Jenish Rajma — first PRAANA camp in Madurai
Five patients were evaluated free of charge, with sincere thanks to all volunteers who made it possible.

Held at the Government District Hospital near Jodhpur; 15 patients were seen and 11 spirometry tests completed.

Dr. Danish Qureshi — Health and Wellness Clinic
63 patients seen (ages 10–82): 44 male, 19 female. 10 diagnosed with asthma and chest allergies; 60 given PEFR screening; 45 tested for blood sugar or haemoglobin; 15 received asthma counselling.

10 patients evaluated comprehensively, with allergy skin-testing and spirometry, plus educational interactions with the doctor, staff and Cipla's representative.

27 patients aged 17–78 evaluated; 15 underwent allergy skin testing and 8 had pulmonary function tests. All services free of charge.
Dr. Gayatri Pandit, ENT Allergy Asthma Specialist
7 patients seen; 2 allergy skin tests and 2 spirometry tests performed, with free medications supplied by German Remedies.
Dr. Sunita Shukla — world's first PCAAC-affiliated camp
Free consultation, skin prick testing and spirometry provided to 18 patients, supported by Mrs. Sita Shivaram, Allcure, and Cipla.

Approximately 200 patients evaluated free of charge at Kalna, central West Bengal.
International Asthma Services breaks ground in Myanmar
Dr. Vinay Mehta and Dr. PK Vedanthan delivered a three-day allergy and asthma seminar in Yangon, co-sponsored by Rotary International, Friendship Force International and Myanmar Compassionate Hands. More than 200 patients received counselling and free consultations.
