IAS has provided free medications and educational materials, conducted public awareness activities through various media, and supported research that shapes how allergy and asthma care is taught and delivered.

Allergy training in India
Dr. P. K. Vedanthan, together with a group of physicians, authored an editorial on allergy training in India, published in the May 2022 issue of Clinical and Experimental Allergy.

Dr. PK co-authored an editorial with Dr. K. R. Bharat Kumar Reddy of Bengaluru advocating for paediatric pulmonology as a subspecialty in India, published in the inaugural issue of the Journal of Paediatric Pulmonology.

Allergy-Asthma Network of India (AANI)
To serve asthmatic patients across the world, IAS has offered free medications, educational materials, and public-awareness talks through TV, newspapers, books and pamphlets. The latest step has been forming the Allergy-Asthma Network of India (AANI) — nearly 1,500 physicians trained by IAS at CMC Vellore, who now carry the ideals of IAS into practice in their own communities.

IAS-Sponsored Scholarships
We support motivated health-care workers — medical students, residents, and fellows — to work onsite in developing countries with prearranged mentorships, available by application and interview, including scholarships through the Center for Global Health, University of Colorado.

School of Medicine (MD) — implementation of echocardiography training and scanning for Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) in rural Rwandan communities through Team Heart.
Nguyen Lu
School of Medicine (MD) — testing whether wireless phones and a web platform can reduce lost-to-follow-up and improve medication and anticoagulation adherence for RHD post-cardiac patients in Kigali, Rwanda.
Taylor Davis
School of Medicine (MD) — creating a national RHD registry in Rwanda to track patients, determine prevalence, and support national eradication policy.
